TIDF Redesign

This project is to design a media package for a event. I chose to do a Redesign of Toronto International Design Festival (TIDF). The original design of 2011 is simple so I decided to put more fun to it using shapes.

The idea was to indicate how ideas transform into visible object. Halfton is used to interpret how ideas generate. The spread of dots transforming into solid shapes are showing how ideas became visible object in art and design. These halftone images and solid shapes are the basic elements that are used in the package for continuity through other media such as postcard, tickets, poste, parking pass, etc.

Elegance / Tiffany & Co. (Historical Eclecticism)

It's called "Historical Eclecticism", which is combining something famous and historical with the message/product (?) I believe this painting is very famous – Madonna with the long neck – that most of the people have seen it. The artist makes the Holy Virgin in the painting looks graceful and elegant and gives her a neck like a swan. On the other side, Tiffany & Co. is unique and artistic. So I think they can combine together and give it a word to for the combination – Elegance – referring both the painting and the products of Tiffany&Co. I crop the original panting to focus on the Holy Virgin and make it looks like she is tickling the necklace and showing its loveliness.

NTG Halloween Event Poster 2010

This is the Halloween poster I did for the New Taiwanese Generation - club in UBC. I got a lot of feed back when I posted on facebook. I actually wanted to go to UBC and hoped to see it posted around in the school. I wondered how it would feel seeing my work posted in public =P Hope there will be a next time.

I Think Therefore I Am

Doing a Typography poster is just so fun. Just play with kerning could turn out effectively. And with a black background, it looks so classic and cool. Love It. I was going to upload a white background version, but it looks cooler with black.

It was actually my friend's project of doing a typography poster. But I wanted to do it because I haven't done a typography poster yet. It is a poster to show who you are. I like the classic and simple look in every design and art :)
